Dorothy and Val have donated to the new business adventure! I am so excited! I still need a few more things but it is well on it's way. The display will hopefully be bought on Thursday in Flandreau. Thank you to Deanna for that idea! I have my new pink shoes that Barb made for me. LOVE them! Don't forget to go on to http://www.brookingsradio.com/ to get your certificates for Reflections! It will save you some money!! Have a great day and I will write more soon.

So much cooler...

...today than it has been the last few days. I am very grateful for that. I have a relaxing day today so far but no worries; I am making up for it tomorrow! The RADIO AUCTION is today from 4pm to 6pm on KCountry! Reflections has some great items on there! I hope I don't forget to listen. I really want these to sell. The reward is GREAT! Airtime for my commercials! YAY!!!  The first one will air on KCountry 102.3 on Monday, July 25th! I am so excited! Holler if you hear me on the air! =)

Hot!!!

I am not a fan of the heat at all! I am the 70 degree day with a breeze kind of girl. My hair gets all frizzy too. I have some Paul Mitchell Super Skinny that I like to use for that. It helps too. How are all of you keeping cool this week?

Had a great 4th of July!

I hope that you all had a great weekend. I sure did. I went to the Swiftel fireworks display.
My boys really loved it! They ate Kettle Korn and played on all the rides and the
display was so bright they just loved it!
So today is back to work after being closed yesterday.
It seems odd that today is Tuesday already.
I have so much to do to get ready for the Some Beach Grand Opening! I don't
know that I will have enough time for everything that I want to get done.
Looks like I will have to get my sons to help.
I hope alot of people make it out there. It is going to be GREAT!
I have alot of handouts already printed and some more that I ordered.
I don't think that they will get here in time though.
I have some great new decorations here at the salon and more
on the way. Stop in and see them if you are in the area.
Will keep you posted in the nest set coming in and the latest idea
I am bopping around. Have a great week!

My oh my!

My oh my!!!  I feel as if I am in a race and I am LOSING! I have so much to do and so little time do get it all done! As if I am the only person that has ever felt this way. LOL!! I was gone from the salon yesterday to be home with Sonne while he was sick. I must say that I love having the ability to do that. He is all better and off to PreSchool today so back at work for me. I am updating the blog and the Facebook page and then I am hoping to add some pictures to the website. I have been busy all ready this morning. I even had to drop off my car to have a flat fixed. THANK YOU HOMETOWN!! I love them. Interesting task for today: A blonde, level lighter than a 10, and ng at a 6. Hmmm....fill fill fill!!  Have a great day and I will write more soon!

You know what Thursday means?

PRT!!!!!!!!!
That is what Thursday means!
I love the shows that PRT puts on.
They are a great group of actors and great people too!
I have been able to meet quite a few of them here at the salon.
I get to do hair for them when they need cuts for shows.
I really enjoy the time spent at PRT shows.
Even if I laugh so hard sometimes that I have an asthma attack.
(Yes, there are more ways to set them off.)
Yesterday was a slow day here at the salon and today seems to be too.
The weather is a disaster.
The water is ridiculous.
Good thing that I love my job!
Baseball this Saturday in Salem will be fun.
It will be a VERY LONG day for my boys.
Uppercase Living and Mancave books are here at the salon too.
I can't wait to have my party.
The designs will look amazing in here!
More soon...

Rain rain rain...

The rain is here again and I just don't see an end in sight. I am hoping to have the moisture out of the air very soon! My hair just can't take it! Lol! Things were a little on the hectic side here at Reflections last week. I apologize for not posting sooner. There are some new things here again. I have some GREAT hair pieces and shoes on retail and they are handmade by a great lady that lives here in Brookings. I have also brought the JOICO KPak in to stock. It is a great product and the Reconstructor is fabulous! Today we had a mini class in Conditioning Treatments. I will post the pics up to the website as soon as I can. It was a fun way to spend the morning and my hair feels amazing! There are a few more things in the works down here. I can't wait to finish them up and be able to share! Don't forget: if you look up reflections online; please leave a review! I love to read your feedback!

Happy Monday to you!

It is a beautiful Monday! The sun is out, the temp is up, and the breeze smells like coconut!
Mmmm....what a great way to start the week!

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

Darn alarm clock!

Good Morning everyone! I am sad to be awake from the dream and thrown
into the dreary rain of the wonderful Monday morning.
BUT...
At least the rain has stopped and it looks as though the sun is trying to shine!
I am here at work and of course the radio is on and the music is great!
That will help to get my toes tapping to the rhythm.
I have so many things to do today.
I already went to Sturdevant's and the coffee is on so the most important things are already done
for me personally.
Now on to the most important things business wise...
I have Facebook updated...
I checked my website...
I looked at Yelp...
and now I am blogging for you!
Yep, that takes care of the most important things.

Time to start the cleaning and then on to orders!
Have a great Monday!!

Raining indoors??

Well maybe somewhere if the roof is really bad it could rain indoors. That was not the case here today. One of my friends stopped in for a minute and her son was along. Yep...you guessed it! He turned on the water in the shampoo bowl and WWOOOOSSHHH!!!!!  The water hit the ceiling and sprayed across to Christina's vanity. I made him wipe up the water. Bet he won't ever do that again. HAHAHA!!!  He is a good kid though. He had no idea that would happen. Gee...I wish I could have seen his face. The weekend is here and you know what that means: HOMEWORK. Ugh! I hope that you all have a great weekend and catch up with me here on Monday! Happy hair days!

A great WAXY WEDNESDAY!

It is the end of another Waxy Wednesday! I really don't mind working 12 hour shifts...when it is my own business that I am busting butt for. Lol! I had some GREAT ladies stop in today and my favorite PRT people were here too. I am so excited that the new season has started. The first show was tonight at 7:30 and I am bummed that I missed it. I will be there tomorrow though. I can't wait to be able to release some of the new happenings here at Reflections. I am really nervous but I am sure that you will really love them! I am blonde now. Haha....yes, I said blonde. Okay...yellow...but the end result will be a shade of blonde. I will be sure to upload some photos...if I can figure out how to. I hope that you are having some great hair days! I will write more in a couple of days.

Monday is here!

Well here we are on a hot and sticky Monday morning. I just finished all the running I had to do this morning. I am now getting my tax information straight, updating my online sites and having coffee. My wonderful nephew TJ is here to get his red in his hair. That will be fun and I will post pictures on the website. My handicap signs are up and that needs to be updated online too. Don't forget to search Reflections on Google! I am now on Google Maps too. It is neat to see all the ways to advertise online. I also start classes today. I have decided to go on and get my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. WOO HOO! Keep reading and I will keep updating. Enjoy the sun!

Per your requests...

Many of you have asked me when or if I was going to start a blog. Well I guess my answer is yes I am. I will do what I can for my clients to the best of my knowledge. Now, by knowledge, I simply mean that if I can figure this thing out I will get it done. I am not very computer savvy as many of you already know but I will attempt to update this at least 3 times a week, if I can do more I certainly will. I will try my hardest to keep the clothesline full.

A clothesline was a news forecast
         To neighbors passing by,
There were no secrets you could keep
When clothes were hung to dry.

It also was a friendly link
              For neighbors always knew
If company had stopped on by
To spend a night or two.

For then you'd see the "fancy sheets"
            And towels upon the line;
You'd see the "company table cloths"
              With intricate designs.

The line announced a baby's birth
From folks who lived inside -
As brand new infant clothes were hung,
         So carefully with pride!

The ages of the children could
            So readily be known
By watching how the sizes changed,
You'd know how much they'd grown!

It also told when illness struck,
        As extra sheets were hung;
Then nightclothes, and a bathrobe, too,
        Haphazardly were strung.

It also said, "Gone on vacation now"
When lines hung limp and bare.
It told, "We're back!" when full lines sagged
With not an inch to spare!

New folks in town were scorned upon
If wash was dingy and gray,
As neighbors carefully raised their brows,
And looked the other way .. . .

But clotheslines now are of the past,
For dryers make work much less.
Now what goes on inside a home
       Is anybody's guess!

I really miss that way of life.
          It was a friendly sign
When neighbors knew each other best
By what hung on the line.
